Rack Netting FAQs
Can I cut down a racking net on-site if it’s too big?
We don’t recommend that you cut your netting if it’s too big. Instead, we advise that you roll the excess up tightly and then clip it on with carabiner clips. The reasoning behind this is that in the event of an impact, the energy gets dissipated to the edge of the net, and that’s why the edge needs to be stronger than the netting itself.
Can I repair a torn racking net on site?
Yes, you can repair a torn net on site yourself. Using cable ties to secure the torn sections is perfectly acceptable and won’t affect the net’s integrity, as cable ties are quite strong. For larger tears, please contact us, and we can provide a patch section that you can cable tie to the damaged area. Both methods are effective and easy to carry out on site.
What colours are available for rack netting?
As standard, we stock blue and black in 2.3mm, 3mm and 5mm thicknesses. However it’s possible to order netting in several other colours, such as red or yellow.
What is warehouse netting made from?
How are RackNets™ installed?
RackNets™ should be installed by securing the main brackets to the racking struts, attaching side and intermediate brackets for additional support, and threading the pre-cut cables through the brackets and cable fixers. Once the wires are fixed in place, the netting can be attached using carabiner clips. Lastly, cables should be checked and tightened if necessary to ensure proper tension and stability.

Can rack netting be retrofitted to existing racking systems?
Yes, rack netting can be retrofitted to existing racking systems. This involves assessing the current racking structure and installing netting that enhances safety and prevents items from falling. We can facilitate this process to ensure proper installation and integration with your existing racking system.
What back-of-rack netting stand-off options do you provide?
The closest standoff we can do for back-of-rack netting is actually flush fitting. We can cable tie directly to frames and beams, run a cable along the top and bottom, and secure it with carabiners and cable ties, so no offset is needed at all.
If you do need an offset, we’ve got options from 100mm to 250mm, increasing in 50mm increments. We don’t usually get asked for 50mm brackets, as that tends to be where the pallet overhang sits, but we do carry stock of:
- 100mm
- 150mm
- 200mm
- 250mm
Anything beyond that starts getting a bit big: too much cantilever action into the frame, which could risk damaging the racking. If you need something larger, you’re looking at a bespoke fitting frame, which we might be able to sort depending on the setup.
How much weight can RackNets™ support?
RackNets™ 2.3 prevents stock (up to 50kg) from falling from the rear of adjustable pallet racking (APR). It follows the same design principles as the RackNets™ 3.0 and RackNets™ 5.0 systems, however those systems are designed to handle larger loads (up to 1000kg).
How do I check my netting quote?
To check your netting quote, look at the following details:
- Height: Make sure the netting is the correct height for your needs.
- Length: Confirm that the length is as expected.
- Number of runs: Check that the number of runs matches what you require.
